There is a home on the outskirts of Nashville that use to be owned by Elvis Presley’s manager Col. Tom Parker. Elvis used this place as his home-away-from-home in Music City. There is now talk and speculation that the home could soon be torn down to make way for a car wash. Current owner Steve North, who used to look for Elvis’ pink Cadillac in the driveway while growing up in the area, has spent four years unsuccessfully searching for a buyer who would keep the property intact. A car wash developer who’s interested in the property has a zoning hearing scheduled today. But Robbie Jones, who serves on the board of Historic Nashville Inc., tells the AP, “Until the wrecking ball’s out there actually knocking it down, we’ll never give up.”
