51-year-old Pittsburgh native Amy Jacobs, has opened up about her love for Garth Brooks and country music…. She has been to 78 Garth Brooks concerts in her 51 years of living (which is crazy because Garth retired for a good chunk of time)!
One of the ways she is racking up that concert number is because Garth, on his world tour, has been doing multiple shows in each city, like this weekend he is doing 9 shows in Souix City. Jacobs has tickets for Brooks’ first five shows at the Denny Sanford Premier Center and hopes to stay through the second weekend to attend all nine performances.
She told the press “I fell in love Garth and his music back in the 1990s, when my boyfriend introduced me to it,” said Jacobs. “In 1998, my boyfriend passed away. Going to these concerts and listening to Garth’s music keeps my boyfriend’s love very much alive for me.”
Even though the set list at most concerts is the same, Jacobs says each performance is different, which we can all relate to if you have seen Garth Brooks live at all. Yes most of us haven’t seen him that many times, but we can agree that every show he puts on has as much energy as the show before it!
She says what makes a Garth Brooks concert so special isn’t necessarily JUST Garth Brooks… to her, the crowd’s energy and the singer’s personality make each show special. No matter how large the venue, Brooks makes each concert-goer feel like they know him personally, she said.
So this is where her fan level goes up a notch…over the past two and a half years, Jacobs has followed Garth to 20 cities around the country, becoming familiar presence at his shows!
And of course we are all sitting here wondering the same thing… how can she afford so many show tickets, plane tickets, hotels and all that come with a country concert…”I’ll work extra and spend less just so I can afford to go see Garth,” said Jacobs.”His tickets are really cheap in comparison to other artists. He likes to keep the prices low for everybody no matter where you sit, front row or last row.”
